Where a brook flowed and ancient trees stood

Then a rose blossomed there

Thanks, Meritings! As far as pricking one’s finger goes, I suppose despair would suggest something seriously bad has happened, but, from another perspective which may be hard to visualize, nothing seriously bad actually happened.
