I
Trying to explain why the damsel got caught by the dragon
Most dragons like sitting on gold
While the knight wants a damsel to hold,
But the damsel prefers
Those knights richer than hers
Or that dragon both well-off and old.
II
The problem with dragon gold is both knights and damsels want it
A dragon sits deep in his cave.
He has gold since he knows how to save.
There’s a damsel distressed
By her shiny knight pest
Sneaking in since gold makes fools brave.
III
The dragon has sold all his gold
The dragon said, “Gold’s gonna drop.”
So he sold when gold hit a new top
And the damsel moaned, “Why?”
You could hear the knight cry,
But those bulls couldn’t make that bear stop.

I think the dragon is the clear winner… he seems to keep his head cool…

Chucking over the dragon speculating on the commodities exchange while the damsel and the knight parry and thrust.

Thanks, Brian! I figured I had to get the dragon out of his cave and into the 21st century with commodities trading.

Love the rhyming in this. And such a clever (but being a dragon being obsessed with gold) dragon. Very clever write and I thoroughly enjoyed.

Thank you, kanzensakura! Sometimes being obsessed with something demands that one gets rid of it.

This is such fun, Frank, and I too love dragons. I have several very small dragons on my bookshelf: one wooden netsuke, one ceramic and one glass. More dragons please!

Thank you, kim881! I tend to favor dragons as well although if I ran into one I might move out of the way, but then maybe not.

I didn’t either until I asked myself what would I do if I were a dragon with all that gold? Thanks, Bryan!

What a miscalculation. Speculating on the market can be most stressful. One can even end up a financial disaster if one persists staying on for too long. Great limericks set Frank!

That is what the dragon must have been thinking. Thanks for the comment, Hank!
