Teased By My Cloudy Mind

Fluffy cloud, relax the sky.
You deepen its pure blue,
But I’m not looking high somewhere.
My mind runs cloudy, too.

My mind desires a faster way
To calm its anxious fight:
“Relax. Sit tall. Observe it all.”
But I am teased by light.

Written for dVerse Quadrille #18 posted by Kim with the challenge word being “cloud”.

I enjoy walking, poetry and short prose as well as taking pictures with my phone.

  1. I like the way your quadrille starts with being teased by a cloudy mind and ends with being teased by light. The word teased strengthens the impression of anxiety and insecurity, with the light a possible solution, but it could also make things worse. A sensitive exploration of a cloudy mind.

    1. Thanks, George! It is hard to relax, sit tall and observe if one is anxious and not relaxed. I wasn’t relaxed when I wrote the poem and I tried to describe what that felt like.
