Birth

Enter into breathing time
Stuff may rise and fall.
It’s not our place to make it stop
Nor can we have it all.

It may not make a lot of sense.
You may wonder why.
Sparkle while you have the chance.
Decades wander by.

  1. Nice use of our short, but often furtive, dance away from birth to the other end of the spectrum, where something akin to oblivion, rebirth, or transition awaits us–the last dance partner. “I would rather burn out rather than fade away,” as the song says.
