On his quest for the truth he went far.
Back at home beauty’s wounds formed a scar.
There his enemies wait
His return, but he’s late,
Or he’s dead, misled by some dark star.
Written for the Limerick Challenge Week 47: Tell Me A Story!
Wow, that’s a depressing limerick. But it is only one chapter. The thing about chapters is if there is one chapter, there’s another, and the thing about heroes is just when you think they have been beaten, they come back.

The story is sad, I like the rhythm of your limerick. 🙂

This is the part of the story that feels depressing, but there are potentially more chapters, stories, to come and things change.

It appears he was saved from his enemies by a stroke of good fortune – for being late! Sometimes fate plays a part!

Your poems are amazing,friend..Love the way you express so much in so little! Please allow me to give a suggestion,Frank, it would be so much easier for the reader if you enable the likes button onto the main page rather than the reader clicking every single time on the post to appreciate it by hitting the like button and back to read a lot more on the blog. Thanks, Aks! I didn’t know that was possible. I’ll see if the theme I am using allows it.
