One is coated fresh with fame.
One is dumpier with dough.
One has frosting smoothed with shame.
One trades sugar for its soul.
Some are tasty. Others not.
All are gone before too long.
Sipping cappuccino hot,
Foamy calmness, sounds of song.

Cadence is beautifully rhymed with meter. I admire the different kinds of do-nuts.

I don’t eat many real donuts myself. However, I wrote this while traveling some time ago when I stopped to get a cup of coffee and then seeing the tempting array of donuts for sale, I figured ‘why not?’ Thanks!

I love how you’ve described each donut as one might feel when choosing/eating it! And there’s not a better pairing than a steamy cappuccino. Lovely, Frank.

I almost asked for an espresso at that cafe, but when I saw the donuts I figured I would need more liquid. Thanks!

Nice of you to bring donuts to the bar, Frank, in the guise of a very fun and wee bit metaphorical poem. Where’s mine?

Some of those donuts are metaphorical, but whether they taste good or not they are all edible, like a good donut should be. Thanks!

Donuts as metaphor–sure why not. Unfortunately for my waistline, I never met a donut I didn’t like.
