We are perspectives on what’s real.
We’re the ones who see it.
Anticipating what we’ll feel
While wintery fears conceal it.
Although it isn’t spring here yet,
Our fresh, green dreams will grow
And should despair let us forget–
Bright blooms somewhere will show.

Your lovely two stanzas perk up the east coast as it readies for yet another snow storm, with Spring officially only a week away. Exceptions rule, but should not dampen dreams.

We had snow last night in Chicago. Somewhere those flowers will bloom. Thanks!

I am so ready for bright blooms to show….and yet, our crocus that is peeking from the soil in today’s sunshine is going to be hit with a blizzard in Boston tomorrow! 😦

I wonder how plants handle a late cold spell? I assume they will be alright. We’ll have to see.

Thank you! I figure, from a practical perspective, one might as well believe it is all good, whatever happens, and may those dreams grow.

I lived for almost 5 years in a tropical climate, with no excitement to mark the advent of Spring. I longed for the change of seasons. Your poem captures the anticipation of Spring so well!

I remember once living in Mexico for a winter season and realized it was 70 degrees Fahrenheit there all year round. I guess I could get used to it, but there is something nice about having seasonal changes.

When dreams take shape enough to recognize that they actually have a chance to succeed it is like a spring for them. Thanks!

Thank you, Sanaa! It occurred to me an overall optimistic perspective is better than a negative one even if I prepare short term for a negative one.

winter does make us forget that spring is indeed just buried under all that snow, that’s a lovely thought to consider

I am in no hurry for spring this year. However, I do remember many cabin fever winters when I wanted to get outside again. Thanks!

Thank you! I wasn’t sure I would find an image for spring and so just clicked on a past year in Google drive where I automatically upload photos and there it was.

Well-written verse (no surprise) that makes me long for watching our annuals bloom and planting some more to keep them company.

I am waiting for the trees to bloom in the nearby park. They are usually quite bright. At the moment everything is white with snow which is fine too. Thanks!

Love the rhythm of poem in bloom. And it’s perfect for me, right now… We are getting a lot of snow tomorrow–a blizzard, if the forecast is to be believed–but we can’t allow ourselves to forget that spring is almost here.

If you are on the northeast coast of the USA I hear it could be over a foot of snow. We didn’t get that much in Chicago. I am glad you like the rhythm of the poem. Thanks!

With the words “we are perspectives of what is real” manifests a fluid sense of reality depending on perception. Lovely image of spring blooms, Frank.

Thanks, Olga! I was hoping to suggest that we do look at what is real. We aren’t looking at illusions, but we don’t see all of it, only our perspective. Sometimes people despair and there is truth and reality in that despair, but that isn’t all of reality.

So true, Frank. We forget at times that what we see/think/feel is only our perspective. To step out of ourselves and try to envision the whole picture can be enlightening.
