Summer needs to get some rest.
Fall, it’s time to rise!
Have you any dreams to share
Through cool autumn skies?

    I like autumn because after autumn comes winter,
    and i love winter because we are so close to spring,
    and spring is enchanting because the summer is coming,
    and I like summer because we are a step closer to autumn,
    I like autumn because after autumn comes winter………

    I love life, and therefore, all seasons !

    1. I like all seasons as well. The transition seasons, spring and autumn, feel like the middle ground between extremes, but I don’t want to miss those extremes (unless they are very extreme). Thank you, Ben!

  6. I would like to banish winter & daylight saving time; never turn clocks back or forward, jump from Fall to Spring. When the ice & snow hit around here, secondary to our hills and mountains, driving becomes drudgery. I love the fact I saw your image over at my photography site first; dug it both times.

    1. I’m glad you liked the image, Glenn! I originally took the photo thinking of your site and then I thought it fit here as well. I don’t think we need these time changes, but going from Fall to Spring might require moving closer to the equator. It is more difficult to get around in the winter here as well.

    1. We could move closer to the equator to avoid winter. Sometimes we go to the Atlantic Ocean for a few weeks in the winter. That is mainly when we take vacations. Thanks, Bjorn!

    1. Summer sent a few hurricanes toward the end, or that might be autumn waking up from a nightmare. I’ll take whatever dreams are available and hope they are good ones although nightmares might be more interesting and better for me. Thanks, Paul!

    1. I think our summer was pretty good, but then I don’t live in the south where the hurricanes hit. That was a wash out, or so I’ve heard. I am looking for the first warm snow to coat the trees. Thanks, Jane!

  11. Here in Indiana, summer is refusing to RIP. We’ve had a string of days in the 90’s. Loved the verse. Loved the photo. Autumn is such a feast for the eyes!

    1. It was very hot here last week. I suspected it had to do with the hurricanes. The last two days have been cool, but still warm. I don’t think we ever reached 98 degrees F. Thank you, Fred, and stay safe with that high temperature.

    1. For some it is still very hot, but the chill is something to look forward to. I think we all dream, but we are not aware of it. I don’t know if it really matters that we are aware of it or not. We get the benefits regardless or so I hope since I don’t remember most of my dreams. Thanks, Marley!

  18. I always mourn when summer is leaving, but once it is gone, it is gone and I am present with the fall. I guess it is like waking up. I love sleeping, but waking up is rough until I am up, and then I am present with the day. Love your poem Frank!

    1. My favorite seasons are spring and autumn. They are less extreme, but in winter, I prefer summer. They come back even thought there are days I wonder if they will. Thank you, Mary!

  20. Upon waking, I usually forget my dreams. Lately, I have been remembering them, about “doing something.” Each one different, each one the same. I think sometimes our night dreams are reflections of your days, only all mixed up.

    1. Even dreams I remember, I find confusing after writing them down. What I remembered didn’t seem like it really was the dream but only pieces of it that stood out. Thanks, Annell!
