Their Mysterious Eyes — #writephoto

Sue Vincent's photo prompt Eye for #writephoto

The arc’s reflection made an eye.
They laughed when I asked, “Can it see?”
What’s looking at us walking by
May laugh and measure differently.
The dark might have its ways to know
A brighter truth that it won’t show.
Let us walk. I do not mind.
I hope those eyes like what they find.

  1. 8 lines, 4 rhymes, but gargantuan pleasure to read. Those arched bridges and their reflections are hard to find in America; at least for me.

  2. Well put, Frank:
‘The dark might have its ways to know
A brighter truth that it won’t show’.
We have a similar bridge here in the village – I must see if there is an eye in its reflection!

  3. A beautiful poetic response to the image Frank, I especially love ‘Let us walk. I do not mind.
I hope those eyes like what they find’, where you give those eyes the unconditional freedom to see as they wish.

  5. great observation Frank and I love this image. how is it I’ve never seen it as an eye before – now I always shall and think of these marvellous lines:
“Let us walk. I do not mind.
I hope those eyes like what they find.”

Clever way of seeing something which others may miss! Like the humor too, Frank!

  7. “Let us walk. I do not mind.
I hope those eyes like what they find.”

Great ending. I like how the last two lines dismisses the previous apprehension. You excel at rhyming verses.
