The arc’s reflection made an eye.
They laughed when I asked, “Can it see?”
What’s looking at us walking by
May laugh and measure differently.
The dark might have its ways to know
A brighter truth that it won’t show.
Let us walk. I do not mind.
I hope those eyes like what they find.

Interesting junktion of text and picture. The arc looks indeed like a big pupilless eye. What brighter truth may it hide?

Sue Vincent provided a nice photo for this prompt. It does makes one wonder if there is someone watching. Thanks, Danik!

As will I, Frank. Lovely photo that you describe in your words perfectly. Sometimes I think we make those eyes weep. Lovely fhymes as usual.

We may well make them weep and we don’t even know who is watching. Thank you, Toni!

8 lines, 4 rhymes, but gargantuan pleasure to read. Those arched bridges and their reflections are hard to find in America; at least for me.

Well put, Frank:

We have a similar bridge here in the village – I must see if there is an eye in its reflection!

Very clever – and a nice innocence in the tone – almost childlike – but wise too – and let’s all hope that ‘they’ like what they see while watching us.
