Always enjoy your one liners, Frank, even if I’m silent. (Life currently feels like a jigsaw with key pieces missing.) Are you hosting MTB tomorrow? Looking forward to it!
We suspected our cat as well and even worried that she might mess up the partially completed puzzle on the table. But she was smarter than we were. She couldn’t care less about those puzzles.
They don’t speak, but some of those jigsaw pieces look like people. I haven’t done puzzles in years and those were communal projects with our children. I usually thought we lost the piece we were looking for. Or the cat ate it. Or it was never in the box to begin with. Thanks, Fred!
It is down the back of the sofa. Along with a million other things you cannot find. (Maybe not actually a million).

One of the main reasons to move is to have an excuse the see what’s making that noise behind the sofa.

Sometimes I can’t find that missing piece until I’ve proven to everyone that it is lost.

Yes, I will be hosting MTB tomorrow. The theme will be “odes” or poems of praise–any form (or no form), any subject. Thanks, Jilly!

It is right in plain sight! Those jigsaw pieces all start looking like none of them will ever fit.

I have sometimes thought the puzzle makers deliberately leave a piece out to make it harder, or rather, impossible. Thanks, Robbie!

That is what we always told my grandmother all the time. She swore we bought incomplete puzzles for her, every year!

I was thinking similar to your grandmother. If we didn’t lose a piece we couldn’t find, I wondered if it was ever in the box to begin with.
