Grooves

Window Sill

My groove today looks like a rut
Exposed in all that bright sunshine.
I’d change those rutty by-ways, but
Those grooves won’t leave. They say they’re mine.

  1. During my wage slave days, there were mornings when I felt all leaden-eyed and shit, but this prompt has brought out the hipster in all of us–and it is a joy to witness, hear, and feel.

  2. Grooves becoming ruts. I remember telling my son on the way into a concert by a classic rock band that we would see a lot of people shaking their booties off… literally! Some ruts are worthwhile… they bring security with them. Some are just worn out grooves. But you can never go wrong shaking your booty!

  3. There are grooves that do not want to leave. You better try and be friends with them. You can always try to lure them into new ways.
And by the way – yes – he got his bike back
