Pigeons stick together waving through the sky.
Seagulls wander off alone aiming their dreams high.
Plovers busy with the shore flitter now and then.
Terns wait by serenely. The Sun will rise again.
Text: Linked to dVerse Open Link Night where Grace is hosting. I am also linking, as gratitude to the Sun for rising, to Debbie Roth’s Forgiving Fridays.

This is awesome, Frank! I think I would want to be part of the group in the third line. I always enjoy your rhyme and length. I tend to enjoy tiny poems most of all.

Thank you, Belle! I just found out about plovers recently although I’ve seen them before. They have an amazing character on the beach.

Your poem gives such hope, Frank. Probably because, we, like the birds, are waiting for the turn of the planet and the Sun rising, too. Warmth in that sun. Like this very much.

Thank you, Jane! The Sun is amazing. It makes all of this possible and we let it lead us.

Really, we are no different than the earliest tribes waiting patiently for the sun to rise…and celebrating night and day for it!

The Sun is so powerful it gives us something in common with our ancestors and everything on Earth even thought it is far away.

Astute observation of the various birds at the shore. Would you believe we have seagulls here in the California desert!

Those seagulls in the desert are puzzling, but I know little about birds except watching them fly. Perhaps there is water nearby?

A very picturesque description inspiring hope! It added to my GK, as I checked up the meaning of plovers and terns. I am no ornithologist and haven’t heard of these in my part of the world.

I am not familiar with them either. I just learned the names a couple of weeks ago. Thank you, Reena!

Oh, this is such beauty, Frank. Love how you tied gratitude for the sun rising to my #ForgivingFridays post. I also see a link between the different forms of how birds fly with forgiveness. It’s like there are many avenues to forgive, all are part of the exquisite dance of life.

I learned about a few in the past couple of weeks when I went to the local library to see if I could find them. There they were. They popped out of the book I was flipping through. It surprised me how easy they were to find like they meant to be found. Thanks, Mary!
