One-Liner Wednesday — Alone

Forgiveness may be hard to do, too hard to do alone, but should it happen anyway and burden's lifted in some way, perhaps we're not alone.

    1. It probably is for our own benefit. It calms one down, but I suppose someone has to be at a safe enough distance from whoever has caused them distress in the past for this to happen. Thanks, Dan!

    1. If one is threatened it may be difficult, but once the threat is over the forgiveness can begin. Bitterness and resentment are painful experiences. Thanks, Mary!

  1. Frank, this touched me right where I needed support today. I was actually feeling somewhat alone, and the truth is – we are NEVER alone, and forgiveness can help us remember that and open to a love greater than what is visible to the eye. ❤ I greatly appreciate this. And I love reading the other comments! What did this one-liner mean to you? I can imagine multiple meanings (the makings of an excellent creative post).

I’m honored to share this for #ForgivingFridays – thank you! Have a wonderful rest of your week.

    1. Last week someone mentioned that forgiving is hard to do and it occurred to me that it can be very hard. Then I thought it might be impossible and that got me a bit depressed. But still it happens. So it is not impossible or we have help. I liked the idea that we need help and the idea that we are not alone so much that any initial depression vanished. I’m glad it is hard and glad it happens and glad we are not alone. I am also glad you liked this. Thank you, Debbie!

      1. Oh Frank, you are so welcome! In the first handout for my coaching program, here’s how I describe forgiveness:

You can envision forgiveness as a gift of your heart or as a blessing of loving. You don’t need to know how to receive this gift; just be willing to receive.

Your comment just connected me in a deeper way to the beauty and “not alone-ness” of this. Thank you, Frank.
        Have a great weekend!

    1. It is perhaps a goal. I can imagine a lot of people who are not able to forgive and maybe with good reason but getting distance helps deal with those very people more effectively or at least avoid them. Thanks, Jane!
