Marvel

Remains of Autumn Soon Will Pass Away

Time incites the mystery.
Space makes ample room to see.
Breath absorbs it patiently–
Strong you stand and watch with me.

Should we fall or should we rise
Victory glows in our eyes.
Death, no matter how it tries,
Drops in time its thin disguise.

I enjoy walking, poetry and short prose as well as taking pictures with my phone.

      1. Frank, I feel something quite mystical and beautiful in this poem, which is quite apt when it comes to writing about death. It is life’s greatest mystery. My daughter is reading Phillip Pullman’s “Clockwork”and the opening pages have some brilliant prose about time, which I think you’d really enjoy. I loved it.
I also thought you might find this flash I wrote interesting. It’s about a failed suicide attempt and somehow it’s had people in stitches. https://beyondtheflow.wordpress.com/2018/03/07/a-stone-in-my-pocket-friday-fictioneers/?wref=tp
        Best wishes,

  1. I don’t know; I don’t see death. I see a very sexy rhythm — like an invitation, or incantation. I think the speaker is Death … ready to have some fun.
