Perfect as an egg-round sign
Smoothly futures realign
With whatever comes our way–
Dreaming, waking, walking play.
Take my hand till you have grown.
Soon you will walk on your own.
Fortune will be yours to keep.
Mine was blessed to guard your sleep.
Text: Linked to dVerse Quadrille. Kim from Writing in North Norfolk is hosting with the word “egg”. The form of this poem is a tanaga.
Photos: “Lake”, above, and “River”, below.
This reads as a lullaby. Perhaps you should put it to music and sing a sound cloud! Lovely, Frank. And, is that the undeterred Des Plaines in that photo?

Yes. That is the Des Plaines River. I try to keep the meter regular making a lullaby-like sound. Thank you, Jilly!

Such a lovely poetic form Frank! I imagined the voice of a parent to the child ~ Love that photo and ending lines:
Fortune will be yours to keep.
Mine was blessed to guard your sleep.

I too felt it could be a lullaby or a prayerful hymn
Frank – I always love your photos – this one is no eggception – pardon the pun..

Your poem has the rhythm of a dance on a shore, Frank, a lovely lullaby. I like the gentle actions in the line:
‘Dreaming, waking, walking play’ and the final line: ‘Mine was blessed to guard your sleep’.
