Breath

View From the Top

Coming up from stress for air,
Breathing deeply standing there,
Wond’ring if I understood–
Yes! I did. It all was good.

Text: Linked to dVerse Meeting the Bar.  I am hosting today featuring the tanaga form.  This form has four-line stanzas with seven syllables per line. It also permits varied rhyme patterns.  For the challenge the only requirement is to construct a poem inspired by the tanaga form. It need not be an actual tanaga.

Deep Red Trail

I enjoy walking, poetry and short prose as well as taking pictures with my phone.

  1. Thanks, I like the Tanaga form, must have a go at writing one. Love your image, feel like a walk like that today, enjoying the sound of water. Hope you have a great Easter.

      1. Yes, I thought it looked like the red paths you will find in a narrow band all along the Front Range, or the geological “fountain formation.” The Garden of the Gods is one place you will see this. I live about an hour and a half south of there:)

  2. I’ve never heard of this form before, Frank. How interesting! Something very new to me. Thank you for bringing this form to the surface. Concise and inspiring!
