Still Learning

White and Blue and Evergreen

Is it too late for what I know
To bring back breathing mystery?
The sky’s so deep. Spring breezes blow,
But poverty is what I see.

There must be more. This looks like less.
So I study. May I be
Recovered by what yearns to bless
And smiles with sure serenity.

  1. “there must be more, this looks like less” – what a great phrase – it really makes me think about things in a new way.

That is quite a question. No, I would say. It’s never too late. Mystery breathes in the answers and the questions. Love this poem!

  3. Breathing mystery is so important, especially the mystery of nature. I love the juxtaposition of deep sky and spring breezes with the poverty that can be seen all around , and the contrast of more and less – the eternal conundrum.
