It’s not something that I don’t know
Though what it is is hard to say.
It’s not something that words can show.
Wordiness is not its way.
It’s not that it is not not there.
I take a breath and let it be.
It’s not that I can point out where,
But everywhere it calls to me.

I love the fact that when you negate you strip it down to the bare essence of being… well poemed

Negation seems to remove what is not essential. Thank you, Bjorn! And thank you for the prompt!

As ever, you say so much in something apparently so artless and simple. Sent me off thinking deeply.

It reminds me of the essence of life, no wordiness, just breathing in and out. Let’s see if this one works

Good point about the essence being breathing in and out. Thank you, Mark!

Yes, like a breath of air or the presence of God. It’s like a riddle 🙂

Great way of stating a contrasting situation, Frank – a contention and an answer in the same breath!

You do realise you described Tao or The Way? Lao Tsu first introduced it to me.

There are things that we just have no words for. Often, words are never enough to capture the beauty around us or the sorrow around us.

You are right about both beauty and sorrow. We want the words, but they aren’t enough. Thank you, Imelda!
