Say What You See

Swans Looking at Me

What they would say is “Go away.
Leave our young in peace.
But should you dare, well, we’re prepared
To treat like bad geese.”

  1. Absolutely cute! Yes, the grown Ups, specially what looks like the father, are in a defensive position. But the young ones semm to be curious and relaxed. They don´t seem to be afraid of the human with the flashing toy.

  2. Excellent, and accurate, Frank.

I once paused my bike on a trail so that a mother and chicks could cross the trail an enter a canal on my left. I waited until all the goslings were in the water, but apparently not safe enough for the mother. She started running after me, pecking at my feet as I tried to pedal away.

    1. They are very protective. I usually keep my distance. I don’t have much of a zoom on the phone. I cropped the photo from a more distant view. I wasn’t as close to them as it appeared. Thanks, Dan!

    1. As I realize it now, I don’t think I understood the challenge, but I liked the prompt and luckily those swans appeared when they did. Thank you, Dale!

    1. I am glad you liked the photos. I don’t know what those orange ones are. They are small in contains with many other flowers I also don’t know the names of. Thank you, Sara!
