Cycle

Circle of White

I cycle on and miss the trees.
They laugh more mindfully than me.
It’s you I’m on this bike to see.

With any end the sun may bring
There will be some old song to sing
And some to dip us fresh in spring.

  1. Such delightful rhyming verses ~ Its a pity that we don’t stop more often and marvel at trees and nature’s bounty ~ Love your photos Frank ~

  3. This reminds me of my husband’s grandparents. When he was courting her, Grandpa rode his bike to see her every day. 🙂

  4. I have never ridden a bike. But i will accept from those who have that it’s exhilarating . So you would have to stop now and then along your ride to really enjoy the sights from nature. Luv your poem . Happy you dropped by my blog today Frank

    Much love…

  5. Lovely. I liked the way you read this, but I’m wondering if the penultimate line might need a comma read this way. Also, it’s interesting how ‘some old song’ may be read with many different stresses, so I was pleased to see the way you did it. 🙂

    1. The main reason I made the recording was that I was reading it in different ways, some that didn’t sound quite right because of where I placed the accents. I tried to let the recording set things straight, but I realize most people would just read it. You may be right about that comma. I do pause after the fifth line. Thank you, Ronnie!
