The itch grinned just a scratch away
Like monsters edging up my skin
Who wanted in perhaps to play
Perhaps to lead my mind astray
And if I let the itch proceed
What would it need to turn today
Into a dVerse birthday wish?
Text: Linked to dVerse Quadrille where Grace is hosting and we are celebrating dVerse’s seventh anniversary. The quadrille word is “itch”. The poem is also a septet, a seven-line poem on any topic, which I will be featuring on Thursday to keep the party going.
Photos: “Colorado Springs Garden of the Gods”, above, and “On the Road to Cripple Creek”, below. They are an itch to travel back there someday.
Nice! LOL!

Damn those monsters who want to play; a pox on the gaggle of them. Nice to be back at the Pub & out on the trail.

I admire your itch septet and will certainly try my hand with this form Frank ~ Your photos certainly makes me itch to travel to your country (when Trump is done, ha) ~

I think it does lead the mind astray when you are using all your will power not to itch.
I love the photo – I really need to get there one day!

Yes, why not! An anniversary is once in quite a while! It is worth to give it some dignified offering!

oh where will the pesky itch lead?
perhaps this is the more important question (too bad Hamlet didn’t consider this)
love the fun and lyrical aspect of this quadrille! and to travel and explore, well – if not literally, then in the mind –
sometimes you just have to scratch!

I wonder what Hamlet would have said. Thank you, Pat!

I like the idea of an itch, of any kind wanting to play or lead our mind astray…there could be good itches and bad ones. The photo looks like a really good itch to scratch. Beautiful scenery.
