Food of Love

Light on Hickory Leaf

Forgiveness is the food of love
That patience hopes to bring.
We eat while daily dreaming of
How peace would let us sing.

  1. Frank, I’ll be honest. Usually, I would not care for verse as short as yours. No fault of the verse — it’s just tastes. But yours I care very much for. And I think I finally figured out why. Yours almost always is firmly rooted in a truth, and a thought provoking one at that. How can you beat that when combined with the beauty of your verse?

    1. I am glad you liked this, Paul. I usually don’t write anything longer than a sonnet unless it is prose. I try to make it meaningful, but sometimes I forget what that meaning was. Thank you!

  2. I love, love, love this Frank!! It is so laser focused on love. How did you get the inspiration for it? Truly, each word I read was like a drop of wisdom and forgiveness. Thank you for contributing this verse for #ForgivingFridays. 🙂
    Blessings,
    Debbie
