A leaf won’t blame the maple tree
When summer warmth is gone.
Forgive the fall. Through winter see
Fresh spring to dream upon.

I love this, Frank! What a creative way to illustrate the hope of forgiveness …. letting go of blame (especially self-judgment) and forgiving with the promise of Spring. That’s what I took away, anyway. 🙂 Light, forgiving, new birth, and creativity – such a great combination.
I’ll share this for Forgiving Fridays tomorrow. Thank you, and happy #ForgivingFridays. ~Blessings, Debbie

No blame and forgiving – if only humans were more like leaves, we’d have hope.

forgive the fall was like a pivot line to me, when both leave and tree understand their purpose, one of your best here Frank.

Leaves fell in the Fall, their bodies piling up like holocaust victims, filling ditches and back yards–yet all this death will be first hidden by snow and then replaced with new birth; and so it goes.

I really like the title – the fact that this is a dance of joyful forgiving, rather than a protestation. Thank you Frank 🍂 🍁

Joyful forgiving may be the only effective protest. Thank you!

Drifts of Emily Dickinson here. So much said with so few words.

I look forward to next spring, Frank. Thank you for your poem. I missed last spring and didn’t plant too many flowers this year because I was so occupied with my first book. I look forward to next blossom.

I enjoyed this Frank. I have always found poetry in the symbiotic relationship between leaf and limb. You have expressed it well… 🙂
