Creative Empathy

More Gray Than Red

With empathy let’s build a way
For walls to act like doors.
The Sun receives this new-born day.
Though darkness felt it had to stay,
It left. It left us more.

  1. Oh Frank, I am so touched. What I am particularly inspired by is how empathy can help us forgive and turn walls into doors and see the fullness and beauty of who we all truly are. ❤ Funny that you wrote about empathy – both Ali Grimshaw (another contributor for #ForgivingFridays) and I also wrote about this!!

Have a wonderful weekend, Frank. Happy happy and happy again Thanksgiving to you. ❤ I’ll share your post shortly. Blessings, Debbie

  2. Your words are both clever and meaningful – for walls to act like doors and “it left. It left us more.” You even have empathy for darkness that felt it had to stay. The photo works well, too. There are doors in that wall of trees though they are not obvious.

  3. Fascinating idea of the darkness having to feel “it had to stay” and “leaving us more” despite the sunrise. As if it has that empathy you speak of to begin with. Love the imagery and personification. Beautiful.
