Deep Shadow

deep shadow blood moon through my phone 
 
It took its chilly time to shed its light
And turn blood-red in darker, deeper night.
I finally realized its end had come,
But trusted once again it would shine bright.

      1. Frank, I started watching at 11pm and checked every 15 minutes until just after midnight, then when I went to bed around 2, it was almost back to normal. Memorable. My phone not nearly as clear as yours.

  6. It’s true, the photos I took couldn’t quite capture the magic either, but they were definitely the most beautiful moon shots I’ve taken yet. I do wish I could have captured the red cast of the sky too. (K)

  11. I really enjoyed this Frank. Our sky was completely cloudless and star-filled here in our piece if the Pacific Northwest at 9:12 PM on Sunday night with the eclipse of the Super Blood Wolf Moon hit totality. It was absolutely surrealistic. After 72 years (next month) I finally saw a total lunar eclipse in a gloriously clear sky! Wow! And I got a great photo of it posted on my site with my Wolf Moon poem.

  14. A poem of faith; well written. I like the photo of the evening after with those little glowing orbs- nice symbolism. We sat on our second floor deck and shot 100+ of that baby; it was beautiful! And we froze our noses & toeses.

  15. A fitting memorial to a once-ever event, Frank! I borrowed a camera and took a few shots. It was a “chilly time” indeed… and that was here in Florida!

  23. Definitely a chilly time, and I sense the impatience, but faith that the light will return.
    (I was already in bed when it began–but the moon was certainly bright that night and the next morning!)
