Keep

Forest Floor
Maple leaves charm forest floor.
Imagine there’s an open door
That keeps one satisfied - no more.
Walk along the way.

Simplicity, that raging fire,
Lets dreams go deep to then rise higher.
With worries done all doubts retire
To reach the end of day.

Maple Leaves on Forest Floor

Author: Frank Hubeny

I enjoy walking, poetry and short prose as well as taking pictures with my phone.

  1. The image of the maple leaves charming the forest floor is such a clear one, magical, Frank. I like the final lines, too, very hopeful.

  2. I really liked the feel of this, so autumnal, but I got lost a bit with the once open door that now denies access or egress.

  4. I love the 3 and 1 writing style. I’m sure there’s a proper name for it of which I’m unaware, but it speaks to me. Well said!
