Winter’s Breath

Winter's Breath
Winter turns the spirit out.
Leaves go red and fall.
Snowy silence sits about.
I wonder at it all,
But know the proof comes in the spring
When leaves and flowers bloom
When birds again have warmth to sing
And outside’s like a room.

  1. Wonderful transitional poetic. I like the reference to the silence of winter, just the sound of the wind in bare branches and your own breathing. Your ABAB rhyme scheme always works well, and kudos for always getting this out of 44 words.

  2. Oh Yes When the Big Blue Room Becomes Home
Where Clouds offer Shade to Summer Spring
Or in Florida at Least only a small wait
    until the Days Change into
    Close to Four Seasons
    of December hehe..
    Currently in Winter
    Mode Just coming out
    of Spring again hAha.. Perhaps
    No Air-Conditioner At Christmas
But With Body Heat and Blankets Really
Hard to Freeze to Death Down Here only
on the Rarest Occasions of Winter Blasts
But Never enough Snow to Become all Iced in..
it’s hard for me to imagine that and i’m glad for it
Although Florida Hurricanes will be a Rather Large inconvenience too hehe..
Anyway all the More Reason to Enjoy Nice Days in the Big Blue Room of Skies..:)
