Look Up

Organized
They all were aiming the same way
Though wild they’re organized.
They chattered some. What did they say?
I’d likely be surprised.
Underneath I watched the sky.
Two droppings were well placed.
Some of them thought they should fly.
One dropping missed my face.

  1. lol, yeah, maybe not the best place to stand. There’s a Far Side that shows a birds view of the world and it is a target on the top of everyone’s head. Nice photos, though.

  2. Love that photo…..and so not frightening like in the movie “The Birds” by Alfred Hitchcock. This is more whimsical…and you do know, that bird shat on you is supposed to be good luck? I think that may only be true if you have some tissues with you! 🙂

  3. Ha, this reminds me of one time my dad, being very charming, bent low ushering a woman through a doorway, sweeping his fedora before him, and a bird shat right on his bald head. I think my lifetime karma came from him. LOL.

  4. I laughed at that last line. 😉
This photo and piece remind me of the guy who takes photos of birds on wires, and uses them as the music notes (where they are sitting on the lines). So cool.

  5. Delightful poem and lovely photo. I often wonder (or imagine) they’re chattering to each other.
I once took a lunch break in Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia, and a pigeon pooped on me–right on my head!

  6. LOL! Never been hit before but I parked a car under a billboard one time and ate at a Dairy Queen. I came out and the poor car was covered. It was epic and disgusting. Haha. Love this poem, Frank!
