Friendship

Garden of the Gods
There is so much I do not know
And more that I won’t ever do.
Repent. Stop grabbing. Let things flow
Away if need be when they’re through.

See which odd ones stick around
Old friends I didn’t know, then found.

I took these photos some years ago at the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. I don’t think I will ever visit that park again since it is far away and we no longer have family living there, but these photos like old friends stick around in my memory.

  1. This made me think of all the people I’ve talked to recently that I haven’t heard from in years. I wonder if they will stick around after the isolation is over? (K)

  2. Vivid colours in those stones and mountains Frank – and a strong verse. I particularly liked the run on line – from ‘…let things flow / Away…’ – after the declarations of the first few lines, it felt like the poem relaxed into its wise conclusion.

  3. Wise advice we probably all need to hear. Reminds me of the fortune cookie I got once that said ‘be happy with what you already have.’

    1. Don’t forget to link your poetry to dVerse Poets Pub. There are prompts three times a week.
This should help promote your work at least among the group I usually write with.
