Rain

Lizard
Oh how wicked fast these ancient lizards run.
Do they love this rainy weather like I do -
Crash and freaky lightning, rainbow when it’s done?

Seeing makes us pause our steps. Who will go through?
Phone in hand, he waits to let me take some shots.
Off he pounces under plants with water blue.

  1. “Tastes like chicken,” which is why they run so fast. Lizard felt safe with you so held still for a moment, then remembered no human can be trusted. Good pic, Frank!

  2. I smiled at the line “phone in hand, he waited for me to take some shots”. It sounded a if the lizard was the one with phone in hand! Great photo, by the way!

  3. I love lizards, Frank. We have a lot in our garden at the moment. I saw a tailless one the other day. He stayed around for about a week and has now disappeared. I hope the cat didn’t get him.

  4. You choired the lizard moment with all devices intact — snappy and sweet. Lizards in my neck of the tropic wood are guppies compared to this fella. – Brendan
