Today is the Washington Prayer March, The Return. Psalm 51 is a psalm David wrote after being exposed by Nathan for his relationship with Bathsheba. Many verses are memorable especially verse 10 (12 in the Tehillim) where David asks God to create in him a clean heart, something only God can do.
לֵ֣ב טָ֭הוֹר בְּרָא־לִ֣י אֱלֹהִ֑ים וְר֥וּחַ נָ֝כ֗וֹן חַדֵּ֥שׁ בְּקִרְבִּֽי׃
Tehillim 51:12 Sefaria
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
Psalms 51:10 King James Version

You can really hear David’s emotions in the voice of the singer…easy to relate to, as I’ve prayed for God to create a clean heart in me after times of rebellion, and that’s how it sounds when you’re beyond humble, knowing you’ve hurt God’s heart–there’s self-loathing and remorse. It can take time to accept His forgiveness and restoration. Yes, adding my prayers to those in Washington–Pastor Robert Morris is there. We (and the country) need the mighty power of the LORD of Heaven’s armies; we need healing and wisdom, God’s direction and His peace. Thanks for this post, Brother Frank.

During September I have been trying to memorize Psalm 51 and attempted some phrases in Hebrew. Listening to a song in a foreign language makes it easier for me to remember and understand. I attended The Return online for most of the day. It was very moving.

WOW! It is true that it’s often easier to memorize the words in a song. May God bless you hugely this week, Frank!

Psalm 51 is special to me, and the musical setting is beautiful. It’s cool to hear it in the original language. Honestly, it’s a lot more enjoyable than I thought it would be. Nice! 😀

Hebrew sounds strange to me, but the more I listen to it the more I enjoy it. Thank you, Jenna!

Thanks for staying tuned to these political events. Doing so with prayer is very important. I had my day filled with granddaughter and a three hour appointment so did not attend even online. I did try to find where it might be discussed on news channels but didn’t find much. God took notice though according to his promise.

I think God did take notice, but he notices everything. I hope He was pleased and the repentance leads to His blessing.

Hi Frank–I just wanted to let you know that I ended a great birthday by watching the Prayer March 2020 (Return) I had recorded earlier in the day. Wow, it was so inspiring and uplifting–so many many people with hearts for the Lord gathered together to pray and worship. It would have been something to be there in person. It boosted my faith that God will hear and do miracles, in response–that there are Good changes coming. I also looked up Psalm 51, and am further impressed that you are memorizing it. As hard as 2020 has been for everyone–and for me personally–I’m recognizing an incredible richness God seeded in the days, a deepening of my own faith relationship which I wouldn’t trade or sell for anything. We love the mountain-top experiences, but it’s the valleys where we come into more knowledge of Everything GOD IS. Have a blessed Sabbath, my poet friend 🙂

I just realized it was your birthday from another post. Happy birthday again! The Return was inspiring. We only recently heard of Jonathan Cahn. I look at it as a blessing that we didn’t miss this. It would have been so easy to have done so.
