Sunday Walk 51 – From Witchcraft To Pornography

Derek Prince called witchcraft the “religion of fallen humanity” and associated it with rebellion, idolatry and the occult. Occult practices include the use of horoscopes, pendulums, or tarot cards. To give the devil his due, these practices work to some extent, but that’s just the bait, the demonic deception, the worm that makes the hook look attractive. When we take the bait we push the Holy Spirit aside.

When we yearn for the supernatural we should yearn for the real thing, not a demonic substitute. No fancy yoga position could ever replace repentance. No fortune teller could ever replace a real church.

Witchcraft can also be associated with activities that appear to have nothing to do with the occult such as watching pornography. People who think they are too smart to be fooled by fortune tellers are readily hooked by lust. If you are involved in this addiction, stop submitting to its demonic influence. If not, there’s a basket full of other addictions including gluttony, greed, fear and anger to avoid as well.

  1. I am in no position to set anyone right, but I will agree with you and share what scripture I know. Many times what we don’t see is more dangerous than what we do see. “Test every spirit, whether they be of God.”

    1. Good observation in bringing up Saul in 1 Samuel. He ultimately consulted a medium to see Samuel, but by then it was too late. It fits right in. Thank you, Mary!

  2. If we are not occupied by Jesus, then we leave a door way to the darkness. It is humbling to know that I am 100% dependant on Jesus. Without Him, I get into all sort of temptations. 🙏

  4. As a former Christian, and as a witch now, I must disagree with you. Witchcraft is a practice that helps change the world, whether it be on a large scale, or just for a single person. In my practice, I focus on using herbs that are associated with love and healing. When I bake pies for my family, I speak an intention into the folding, to protect my family from any harm. What part about witchcraft sounds so devilish to you? Is it simply just because the beliefs are different?

    Our church services are very similar to rituals. We light candles before service, eat the body and drink the blood of Christ after it’s been blessed, and we speak prayers and songs to Heaven to be answered. Many witches do the same in their rituals, light coloured candles, like blue for peace of mind, burn a blend of herbs, like chamomile and lavender for calm, and speak our intent to the universe to be answered. It’s a known fact alot of Christian traditions stemmed from those of Pagans, take a look at Yule and Christmas.

    Just a little food for thought. We’re not evil, we all want good in the world, just as much as you do.

    1. Thank you for responding, Robin. I am sure you believe that you are doing good, however, such beliefs in one’s own innocence is often a form of self-deception. I have linked below to one of Derek Prince’s lectures on witchcraft. There are many others in that series and I recommend that you watch all of them to see what is at stake for you and your family in your practice of witchcraft.

      The part of witchcraft that “sounds so devilish” to me is that you are being manipulative when you speak an intention into those pies even if it for some “good” purpose in your own eyes, even if it is “associated with love and healing” to “change the world”. You are using spiritual powers that I would agree with you do exist. They are, however, not the Holy Spirit and that’s the problem. They ultimately lead to curses, not blessings.

      The universe doesn’t answer requests, but there are demonic spiritual entities who do. You should have nothing to do with them. They want to influence you. They want to manipulate you.
