Guide – Six Sentence Story

As a popular guide Steve told his clientele what they wanted to hear about the history of the island, its famous sandy beaches, its monarchy (or rather dictatorship), and the concentration camps. Things went well for him until he himself stopped believing the narratives he told others.

His doubts began when construction workers discovered mass graves followed by the leaked results of forensic analyses. His suspicions were confirmed when the graves suddenly disappeared and every major news outlet reported over and over again that the graves never existed nor had any “forensic analysis” ever, ever, been conducted implicating the royal house.

Since he was merely a tourist guide Steve felt safe including his suspicions, albeit in a hushed tone, during the narrations he gave of the island figuring he ought to slip the truth through the cracks if he could. When he lost clientele he suspected he must have crossed someone’s line in the shifty island sand, but that no longer bothered him.

    1. I was thinking of Steve starting out as an unbeliever, but then upon seeing things more clearly believing in the unofficial narrative that he started passing on. But I suspect it could work in many way.

  6. It’s always a curious thing – what it is that prompts people to reconsider or question what they are told as absolute truth. I like that your character slips “the truth through the cracks”. Any way to get it out, right?

                    6. For example: Why does the Torah give a lower evaluation of a man 60 and above than for a man 59 and below? Generally speaking, their exist exceptions to this rule, Men who live till 60 do not produce children. Having reached 60, the positive time oriented commandment of “be fruitful and multiply” ceases to apply to that Jewish man as a Torah commandment.

                      Ever here the saying: The victors write the history books? Well the biblical translations did just that, they wrote their bibles in the image of Xtian theology. A very nice mythology.

                      Consider the letters O, D, & G. Depending how a person organizes those letters, forms different ideas. God vs. dog. The framers of the Torah organized the Torah as having 54 Parshaot and further broke up those Parshaot through use of פ & ס. The פ refers to a פרק\chapter. While the ס refers to a סוגיה\sub chapter. Talmudic rabbinic authorities would later debate if the contents of one sugia influenced the contents of an adjacent sugia. This סמוכים\adjacent debate has a profound influence how differing sh’ittot\systematic logic deductions based upon how a person organizes their thoughts, whereby they reach vastly different conclusions. The Talmud refers to 70 sh’ittot in the Torah. A euphemism for vast number of logical deductions which people can rationally deduce.

                      The biblical translators “absolutely” rejected how Jews edited their T’NaCH Primary sources. They chose instead to organize their bible into chapters and verses. The Xtian bible totally abandoned the organization of the Torah into 54 Parshiot. בראשית\נח\לך לך etc etc etc. In like manner the Church translators edited out the division of the T’NaCH into sub-chapters. This played well into their biblical exegesis analysis of their bible. But while the new testament writers plucked a verse totally out of the context of its sugia\sub-chapter, and interpreted the meaning of that verse as an independent variable; Jewish scholarship totally rejected this “scholarship” as nothing short of religious rhetoric and propaganda; the error of taking a statement out of its surrounding context.

                      All generations struggle to interpret the meaning of Scripture. Jewish Common law, like all common law systems, stands upon precedents. Common law compares a current case heard before the Court with prior cases argued before other courtrooms. This style or sh’itta goes by the term “precedents”. The Jewish Oral Torah logic format designed to make a comparative study of similar Case\law studies. Western literature calls this Comparison & Contrast.

                      It does not matter if a person studies T’NaCH or Talmudic sources the methodology of learning remains unchanged. Just as the Gemara makes a Case study by bringing diverse halachot learned from a vast diversity of subjects; it compares these outside halachic ruling to the current Case expressed through a specific Mishna; in like manner Jewish scholarship makes a sugia study of T’NaCH sources by comparing one sugia within the T’NaCH with other sugiot within the T’NaCH. This comparison and contrast study defines how Jews, throughout history to this very moment in time, how they study both T’NaCH and Talmudic Primary sources.

                      Your discussion here opens with Isa 66:2 which as a Xtian you take totally out of its context. Jewish study of the T’NaCH absolutely rejects as false this propaganda rhetoric. The p’suk\verse which you quote, its contained within a larger sugia. The T’NaCH has no chapters and verses, because it rejects the new testament notion that permits cherry picking specific verses to preach a propaganda rhetoric. Xtianity rejects mussar. Whereas rabbis like myself have learned that the Torah defines the term prophesy as a commandment of mussar! Your quoted verse, exists in a larger sugia. For convenience sake, seeing i am communicating with a non Jew who reads a Xtian bible, I shall translate sugiot into chapters and verses. This sugia which contains your verse begins with 66:1 – 66:4. Each sugia of the T’NaCH teaches a defined mussar.

                      Jewish scholarship searches to compare Case studies; it learns the contents of one sugia by connecting that sugia to some other similar sugia found else where, within that specific Book of the prophets. Rabbi Akiva explained the revelation of the Oral Torah which Moshe the prophet orally heard from HaShem at Sinai\Horev with his Divine Chariot mysticism known as פרדס. Which means פשט, רמז, דרוש, סוד. As a warp and a weft of a loom have two opposing threads so too Aggaditah and Halacha exist as two opposing threads – they make the “fabric” of Talmudic learning. The study of both the T’NaCH and Aggaditah within the pages of the Talmud follows a defined axis of drosh and p’shat. The haachic parts, the majority of the Talmud follows the opposing loom like thread axis of remiz and sod.

                      This tends to get complicated very quickly. But to keep things simple, a close and similar sugia within the Book of ישעיה, chapter 9:7-12. The mussar through this comparison of case\din studies … it seems to me that the prophet addresses Justice Justice pursue. The prophet Natan opposed the will of king David to build a house of cedar. The last act of Moshe the prophet, he established the small sanhedrin courts in 3 of the Cities of Refuge. King Shlomo erred and ignored the elder prophet Natan, just as his son when he travel to Sh’Cem, ignored the advice given by the elder advisors of king Shlomo. An interesting comparison between the behavior of the young king Shlomo to the young king Rehav’am.

                      King Shaul, HaShem rejected him as the anointed Moshiach because he erroneously prioritized sacrifices over obedience to prophetic mussar commandments. The sugia which contains 66:2 likewise denounces sacrificial worship. This same prophet declares that HaShem never commanded sacrifices. This mussar stands in the face of the Book of ויקרא, the 3rd Book of the Torah! The meaning of the prophetic mussar which interprets the k’vanna of the Torah,,, that HaShem never commanded man to make a barbecue unto Heaven. HaShem took Israel out of the oppression of Egypt. Israel conquered the land and kingdoms of Canaan to rule the oath sworn lands with justice. The courts have the Torah responsibility to rule the land with justice. Justice defined as a fair compensations for damages inflicted irregardless whether those damages came by intent or accident. The decree of g’lut\exile comes upon Israel when the government rules the lands of Canaan like as did Par’o enslave Israelites – invited guests – in Egypt.

                      Justice does not depend upon building grand Temples and churches at public expense. Justice requires that the Judges receive no bribes or show favoritism to any person who stands before the Court. Lateral courtrooms: the Judges nor the prosecuting attorney, that neither receive a salary from the State. Vertical courtrooms; State vs. So and So … the Judges, Prosecuting Attorney and Police receive their salaries from the State. The Torah commands that judges must not accept bribes. Bribes pervert justice.

T’shuva predicates upon remembering tohor and tumah social interactions. סליחה the 3rd middle blessing in the Shemone Esrai distinguishes itself from t’shuva – the 2nd blessing of the Shemone Esrai. The 3rd blessing of סלח stands upon the Torah commandment not to eat blood. Specifically living blood, blood fit for the altar dedication of any korban. Blood its לאו דוקא which means its a none precise term. For example some people confuse the דאורייתא commandment with not eating blood – across the board. No after the heart stops beating the blood within the carcass of the animal exists as rabbinic blood. Rabbinic commandments place a fence around the Torah. But “bad blood” between the brothers sons of Yaacov, likewise part of the דאורייתא commandment not to eat blood. The 3rd Middle Blessing of the Shemone Esrai learns from the distinction between Yaacov and Yosef. Yaacov blessed Israel before he passed away. Yosef did not give מחילה to his brothers!!!!!! In effect Yosef and his brothers “ate living blood” and Israel went into g’lut\exile.

                      The minor prophets, due to the limitations of their subject matter, should intermix with the larger Books of the Prophets by which to learn a precedent. The study of the Torah and Talmud, both learn by means of precedents. This most essential discipline, the Gospel foreign authors did not know nor understand. The Book of זכריה, the closest precedent to ו:ט-טו, the sugia ח:ט-יט. There the prophet concludes והאמת והשלום אהבו\and the truth and shalom loved. The mussar whereby this precedent learns your quoted sugia – emphasis and priority placed upon tohor social interactions rather than buildings constructed of wood and stone.

                      This 2nd Temple prophet compares to the Book of Kings, which likewise addresses the subject of constructing the Temple in Jerusalem. A precedent comparative sugia מלכים א ט:א-יג. The construction of the Temple built to serve as evidence for the revelation of the opening 1st two Commandments at Sinai. Blessing and curse. The construction of the Temple upon Zion compares to the brit melah\circumcision – a sign of the brit.

                      You employ PEACE as a noun. But שלום in fact exists as a verb. Shalom cannot exist without trust. The brit faith always and forever stands upon the life\death — blessing\curse — path of faith. Faith too exists as a verb rather than a noun. Faith requires taking responsibility for the blessing\curse oath brit faith. The mitzva of kre’a shma, this Torah commandment defines the k’vanna of love. Kre’a shma said in the evening and morning tefillot. The evening tefillah a person accepts responsibility for Torah curses. The morning tefillah a person accepts responsibility for Torah blessings. Love which fails to embrace “responsibility” for both the good and the evil — not love.

                      Which Torah oath brit does acceptance of the yoke of heaven stand upon as the יסוד\foundation of faith? (This same question equally applies to all rabbinic mitzvot, chief of which the rabbinic mitzva of the prophet Shmuel\Samuel anointing David as moshiach.) Answer, concerning the construction of the Temple: HaShem and Avram cut the brit between the pieces (משל); HaShem and Avram cut the brit between the tohor Yatzir and tumah Yatzir (נמשל). The (Temple/house of tefillah), tefillah a mitzvah of the heart. The k’vannah of tefillah – a positive time oriented Torah commandment; this 3rd division of the 613 commandments requires k’vanna. Specifically: to remember t’shuvah made upon tumah social interactions … and the t’shuvah made upon tohor social interactions. The former results in the curse of Civil War. Whereas the latter produces the trust required for the people of Israel to live in peace and harmony together as a people … despite our internal conflicts of interests and contentions, within the borders of the oath sworn lands.

                      This term love, “a man makes love to a woman”… the woman loves the affections shown to her by her man… but the woman does not want a baby. This represents most if not all cases of abortion outside of rape.

                      The Talmud teaches that the life of the woman takes precedence/priority over the life of the fetus. Jewish tradition respects the dignity of women. If the fetus threatens the life of the mother, no question the Torah permits abortion of the baby. What’s the legal ruling if the fetus threatens the life style of the mother? That’s a dispute among the rabbis. Really rather simple. Personally as a rabbinic judge, favor the right of the woman to choose. Killing the baby, utterly gross and disgusting to me personally. But its not my body that grows the fetus.

                    4. A baby growing in the womb most doctors I know refer to that baby as a fetus. Your trust compares to water off the back of a duck. You do not keep the Torah so its really irrelevant if you trust this Torah authority or not. Torah – not for you. My rabbinic peers gave me s’micha and made me a rabbi. Your opinion on that matter amounts to the droplets of water that roll of the back of a duck.

                    5. Xtianity ignores that the prophet Shmuel first received the command לשמה to anoint Shaul as Moshiach king. When that פסול Moshiach prioritized sacrifices over obedience to the mussar commands instructed by the prophet, HaShem לשמה commanded Shmuel to anoint David לשמה as Moshiach king.

                      Yet for over 2000 years the Xtian ‘good noise’ has barked like dogs at night: ‘the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross’. And Paul preached: ‘Abandon the Torah, believe in Jesus and be saved by grace’. A preachy theology which the prophet Shmuel and the nation of Israel has abhorred and despised, worse than the tumah of a man afflicted with leprosy.

    2. Howdy clark. Check out the language of a Safer Torah. The scrolls Jews read from on every Shabbot. The Safer Torah has neither chapters or verses. The church created their bible translations in their image. The imposed, victors write the history books, chapters and verses upon the Torah and NaCH.

      Ezra and the Men of the Great Assembly sealed the T’NaCH books. Yet the church organized their bibles into the Old and New Testaments. What does this reorganization amount to? Something like the letters O, D, and G. Scramble the letters one way and you get DOG. Organize the letters a different way and you get GOD.

      All logic system formats, across the board, be it Jewish Oral Torah logic, Aristotle’s logic, or Hegel’s logic … all logic format\systems stand upon a unique Order. How a person “organizes” written thoughts communicated, changes how other people who read those organized thought, the conclusions which they reach.

      The Order of the Safer Torah organized around the פ and ס. Most Parshaot בראשית … נח … לך לך וכו. The Torah organized into 54 Parshaot, weekly readings of the Torah. The church bibles does not recognize the organization of the Torah into Parshaot. The פ and the ס, they organize the Torah into פרקים and סגיות\chapters and subchapters. The church bibles do not recognize the framers of the T’NaCH, how they organized this body of literature into פ & ס.

      So Xtians read their bibles and conclude DOG. Jews read the T’NaCH and conclude GOD. The sin of the Golden Calf, 40 days thereafter Moshe heard the revelation of the Oral Torah logic system format. The lights of Hanukkah testify to this Torah revelation known as the Oral Torah. Midrashim teach that after 40 days on the mount, Israel assumed that Moshe had died. They approached Aaron and voiced their complaint. At this point in time, how many Torah commandments had Israel accepted at the Sinai revelation of the Torah? You have never in your life asked this question.

      Answer: Only the 1st two Commandments. From that moment there after all Israel wet their britches and thought that they would most assuredly die if they heard just one more commandment!!!!!! Therefore Israel demanded that Moshe ascend the mount and receive the Torah. After 40 days and nights absence Israel concluded that Moshe had died.

      Now this significant understanding of the Sinai revelation required the revelation of the Oral Torah logic system, revealed 40 days after the sin of the Golden calf on Yom Kippur. Why? Moshe the prophet employed the logic format of Oral Torah logic to derive 611 commandments by which the prophet interpreted the k’vanna of the opening 1st two commandments of the Sinai revelation!!!!

      What about the 10 Commandments? The Torah compares to the literature of the Talmud, both highly edited texts. Torah prophets command mussar. Neither the prophet Mohammad nor the new testament writers knew the Torah definition of the word prophet!!! Neither this nor that teaches or instructs mussar. Just as neither the bible nor koran ever once obey the 1st Commandment of the revelation of the Torah at Sinai.

      Aaron translated the Name of HaShem into a word אלהים. So too does the bible and koran. Yahweh or Jehovah or Lord or Allah … all duplicates of the error which Aaron made when he translated the Name into the word אלהים. The sin of the golden calf, the tumah revelation of avodah zarah. All bible and Koran believers worship other gods and therefore violate the 2nd commandment of the Torah revelation at Sinai.

      Why did the framers of the Torah, the first Written Constitution of the Israelite Republic which ruled the lands of ancient Canaan, organize the Sinai revelation into 10 commandments. The Oral Torah logic format, as expressed through the Sanhedrin courts, follows a common law style of law. Comman law stands upon precedents. Upon what precedent do the Framers of the Torah, the first Written Constitution of the Israelite Republic of Canaan, compare the Case of the 10 Commandments? Answer: The Framers of the Written Constitution of the first Israelite Republic of Canaan compare the Case of the revelation of the Torah at Sinai to the Case of the 10 plagues in Egypt.

      The 1st Commandment of Sinai has 2 parts: (1) I am יקוק (HaShem lives as a Spirit not a word. HaShem blew his Spirit into clay and that earth transformed into Man); (2) who took you out of Egypt.

      Therefore the Framers of the Written Torah, the first Constitution of the Israelite Republic of Canaan, compared the revelation of the Torah at Sinai ie the 10 Commandments to the Case of the 10 plagues of Egypt by which HaShem judged the Gods of Egypt and took Israel out of slavery. Jesus did not take Israel out of Egypt. Jesus! a false messiah.
