Board – Six Sentence Story

Jim waited for the gentle sounds of birds before getting out of bed. Later he walked through a park with tall trees and grassy slopes. Today he paused where the stream had been dammed to form a pond before crossing the bridge made out of wooden boards.

He knew this wasn’t yet heaven, but rather the beginning of eternity starting afresh each morning if he chose to persevere. Since he knew he had been healed he breathed freely in spite of the lingering manifestations of disease tempting him with doubt.

Jim indeed persevered crossing the narrow bridge of wooden boards powered by the gratitude of his praise.

  4. Starting fresh each morning is a kind of healing, but I’m a little unsure: if he’s healed why there are ‘lingering manifestations of the disease.” Guess you can’t give the complete picture in six sentences.

    1. I am sort of following Andrew Wommack on the issue of healing if I understand it correctly.

      We have been healed from the sacrifice of Yeshua (Jesus) on the cross, much as the debt for our sins has already been paid, but we need to receive the healing through faith. It may take time for his body to completely recover.

  6. Each of us crosses a bridge to contentment and happiness. And everyone’s bridge and where it leads is different. I am good with that as long as we do not harm others.
    Just my first thought as I read your story. 🙂

  12. Wow-Wonderful, Frank. You write every genre so well, gifted you are. Walking out our healing is like walking out our faith–it usually doesn’t happen in a split second. God bless you as we celebrate Resurrection Sunday upcoming.

            1. I was, but that was 50 years ago. Right now I see myself as a Messianic believer. We attend a Messianic synagogue when in Florida (Beth Yeshua), but in South Carolina, it is All Nations Church in Fort Mill. That is a Pentecostal/Charismatic Christian church with healings and deliverance.

              1. Oh my, I LOVE the sound of the Messianic synagogue and your Pentecostal Charismatic Christian church, both! You are steeped in the Truth of Jesus! God bless you hugely! (Now you can see why Bedelia is having issues with James’ church and feeling the need to move on if he won’t make changes there). I was raised Episcopalian…but have found my place among non-denominational churches that preach Jesus, God’s Grace, Holy Spirit transformation…you know, all the “good stuff’!! Blessings to you 🙂

I think, hope you’ll like upcoming episodes…for all her crusty edginess, she’s a woman of devout JESUS faith who won’t settle for anything but God’s best…so the question is, will Finn catch the revelation and become the man for her?
