Either Stand in the Gap or Take the Mark of the Beast

Ezekiel 22:30
And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

Revelation 13:16-17
16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

When I woke up this morning the dots were connected between these verses. If I’ve got this wrong let me know in the comments.

______

Those with the mark of the beast show their support of the beast when they speak or through the things they do, because through their words or actions their support is visible to all just as if it were written on their foreheads or on their outstretched right hands. Those who stand in the gap refuse through their words and actions (indeed, even their unspoken thoughts) to be an advertisement for the beast.

We have a choice: either stand in the gap or take the mark.

Although this has been going on for thousands of years, it is hard to avoid today in the market place of ideas and in the physical things we buy and sell.

We can still repent and change sides. That mark is not a permanent tattoo. Although it is visible to all, it may be difficult to discern just what one is advertising and what one needs to repent of. If anyone is in doubt about what is true, remember what Jesus said and ask the Holy Spirit for help.

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

When we make sure we are standing in the gap,
we have rejected the mark.
When we reject the mark,
we become an offense which puts us in the gap.

  1. This is very timely and very important for us to consider. You are indeed a watchman on the wall because so many folks are very material minded and living from paycheck to paycheck. When the mark is inded required many will take it not caring too much about the repercussions. In addition I am concerned about this move to digital currency and becoming a cashless society whereas it will be much harder for spending and much easier for govt control.. Thank you as always.

    1. Thank you, Dan, and blessings to you and your family!

Every age requires discernment and ours, the age in which we live, requires it as well. May we ask for guidance from the Holy Spirit and follow as He leads.

  2. Last week I was reading Ezekiel 22 and 23 with new eyes, trembling and awe. Since then the question on my lips every time I make a decision is “why”? What is my why”. Taking a stand for Christ is much more than I ever imagined. And no, I am by far, perfect. Prophets and watchmen payed a great cost then, as they do now, maybe more so as the time draws nearer.

    1. Good point: “Taking a stand for Christ is much more than I ever imagined.” I am finding it much more than I ever imagined as well. Blessings to you, Mary!

  4. I have a question about this Revelation 13. When I read the link to the chapter you provided. My viewpoint of interpretation is as follows:

The first beast that come into play. This beast has war with Gods people, called “the saints”.

This beast overcomes these saints and overcomes them or forces them to comply or death. But all comply.
You can witness this in the writing in this verse.
7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

Then there is a second beast in which comes into play. This beast works with the first beast to cause ALL to receive the mark.

This leaves every man and beast under the control of. If alive, then one will posses this mark it speaks of.

My question is. This chapter does not lead me to believe there is any gap to stand in. All shall take it.

Thanks for allowing me to input. ~Juan

    1. Rather than there not being a gap, I think there would be a gap in those days that Revelation 13 speaks of, but no one (who has not been killed) is standing in it. That seems to be what Ezekiel 22 is saying as well. But I might be wrong.

Regardless, the ultimate victory belongs to the Lord, Jesus.

What struck me when I woke up that morning is that we are in the process of making that choice right now when we can still reject the mark.

      Blessings, Juan!
