Sam received inspiration for how to proceed, but at present he had only half an hour to get it done. He decided to write everything down so he could complete it when he got back from Tampa, but he heard the voice say, Do it now.
In the next fifteen minutes he finished more than he anticipated he could have done in a day’s time. He decided to stop, because he had reached a particularly difficult part and the taxi would be there any moment.
He heard the voice say, Do it now.
In the next fifteen minutes he completed another day’s worth of work just as—just as—the taxi arrived, on time, to pick him up for the airport.

Denise offers the prompt word “present” to be used in this week’s Six Sentence Story.
Joshua 10:13
13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.
1 Kings 18:46
And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.
Acts 8:39
And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

I love this, Frank! I’ve ignored the “voice” on occasion and never fared well when I did. 😉

I have also ignored His voice regretting it later. Blessings to you, Susan!

Oh Frank, I LOVE this one so much! And I’m familiar with The Voice that speaks, “do it now” (or sometimes, “wait”).

Good point! Sometimes the voice does say “wait”. We have to listen and be willing to obey. Blessings, V!

Hence, “no time like the present” especially, when there is an internal impetus. Best to follow through!

I went to a ministry event once and a friend wasn’t there, I was told he was in the hospital. Wanting to send him a get well card with his pastor (we went to different churches but worked with the same parachurch outreach), I thought about the cards in my car, thought, maybe next week, then realized it needed to be that day. That same voice you talk about was nudging me, and I listened and gave the card to the pastor.
The next week at the next event, the pastor approached me and said he’d loved the card, also that he’d died that morning.
Do it now, indeed.

That was the same voice! That is a wonderful testimony, Mimi. Blessings to you! May we all follow His voice as soon as possible.

Why* is it that, there is more and less time available to us in this life.
Given your story-telling skills, better perhaps ask How?

The How is the Holy Spirit. The Why is God loves us, all of us. Thank you, Clark!

There’s no time like the present, do it or risk losing it.

Good reminder that one risks losing it if one doesn’t do it now. Thank you, Keith!

Ah, seeing time constraints as a ploy to procrastinate, but then using the available time instead of squandering it… great message, Frank!

It is amazing what one can get done with the help of the Holy Spirit telling one to “do it now”. Thank you, Nicole!
