Looking at the relics of his past, those lingering memories of his old habits, George couldn’t see how he got from there to here no matter how many self-help programs he pursued. Oh, sure, he gave most of those programs five-stars, but he knew none of them helped and none of them did.
The problem was that it’s hard to love when one loves to whine. And George’s imagination gave him plenty of targets for his wrath.
Then George gave up, figuring it was most likely all his own fault. Laughing, the Lord said, “Finally!”

The Lord has convicted me, until every child on this planet has clean air, clean water, decent food in decent quantity, clothing, shelter and an opportunity for a good education, I have absolutely no reason to whine.
It certainly is easier for Him to work with us when we quit thinking it’s all about us and our comfort.

We sure do love to whine – the Fall into Sin happened because Satan sowed the seeds of discontent in Eve’s mind, so that she wanted something beyond what she had.
I also remember that a study was done on people who had something major happen in their lives, causing them to feel more gratitude than the average person, and how their brains were impacted by feeling that gratitude so acutely.
