Six Sentence Story: Up To Something

We were curious enough to ask Gregory what he was up to, but he was smart enough to run his mouth without giving us any real information. Every time we got in the mood to pester him with questions he’d send us on a wild goose chase.

As the years went by he became very good at whatever it was he was doing. We kept chasing geese.

Eventually Gregory moved away not needing our help, I guess, which was fine with me. Like, I mean, who needs him anyway, but I do miss trying to catch those tasty geese.

  1. Is chasing geese something like going down rabbit holes?! 😂 Either way there can be fresh meat to be had. Maybe our hero will do it on his own and find out what that “something” was!

  2. For some reason, it reminds me of my childhood village, where our neighbour (far away, but on the road home from the lake) had geese—and one of them was a moody one indeed.

That goose hated my red bike. Needless to say, I was not the one chasing it.

Geese do now sound tasty as heck.

  3. ‘those who can do, those who can’t…teach’*

now there’s a 64k question… who is the teacher in this Six?

(excellent story: allows Reader full range of choice in identifying with a character (any good Six does that) but…but! the underlying theme it un-touched by which is chosen.)

    good Six

  4. You are a brilliant story teller, Frank–every one of them is perfectly polished, and I enjoy them all. And thanks for the song–I was not familiar with it…I liked it, and it made me cry. Hope things are well with you, brother–I keep you and your family in my nightly prayers–God bless you abundantly.✝

    1. I was listening to a sermon by Curry Blake over a week ago when he mentioned the song. That was the first time I heard it or heard of Toby Keith. I am glad you enjoy these stories. Blessings and thank you, Cale!
