Taking things for granted was no puzzle for Tim. He had been doing it all his life.
One day he got touched.
His friends told him that he’d get over it. As years passed Tim realized he’d never get over it. As even more years passed he was glad he never did.

Denise offers the prompt word “puzzle” to be used in this week’s Six Sentence Stories.

Nice and nice song too!

change, fundamental change, is often not nearly as dramatic (at least to anyone other the person experiencing it) as movies and stories might suggest. and the getting over it, that is a fairly meaningless assertion when coming from someone other than the person… true change alters reality not simply (or merely) outward behavior
good SIx

I agree. His friends wouldn’t know what happened to him to offer meaningful advice. Blessings, Clark!

I can think of several instances in which I could have been accused of being ‘touched’ as in the head- and I much like Tim wouldn’t change a thing! Nice write Frank.

At least he is not taking things for granted any more, I guess for him being touched was a life changing moment in a good way.
A very telling story written in so little words.
now that’s what I call art.

Lose the veil, embrace the true world through the soles, and souls of the world. Do as often as you feel the impulse…never gets old, yes?
