East End of Charles Bridge in Prague—Thursday Doors

Look through the arch and you will see a building. Look closer towards the center of the two photos and you will see a middle door with two side doors.

The arch way is a kind of door or entrance as well leading to Prague’s Old Town.

If you go in the other direction crossing the Vltava River you will reach the castle.

Three doors in the distance. We are standing on Charles Bridge.
A bit closer at another time of day. Charles Bridge is behind. The old town plaza with the clock tower is straight ahead.

The Cathedral of Saint Vitus—Thursday Doors

The first four photos are of parts of the entrance doors. The last one is a view of the cathedral from a distance.

This is only part of one of the doors
You can see the two doors at the bottom and I just noticed there are two more doors
Close up of the archway over the doors
More details I didn’t notice until now

Door Within a Door—Thursday Doors

The cap below is a kind of door that leads to the underground water system.

On this cap/door from Prague is an image of an open door with an arm holding a sword in a defensive posture.

In case that door doesn’t count I’ve included a door from somewhere in the Prague Castle.

Český Krumlov—Thursday Doors

Below are some pictures of doors at the Český Krumlov castle in the Czech Republic.

They are not far from the door I posted last week.

At least, that’s what I remember.

I also remember this was early morning, perhaps 5 or 6 AM. Most of the other tourists were still asleep, but not all.

James K. Polk Birthplace—Thursday Doors

The James K. Polk birthplace near Charlotte, North Carolina, is only a few miles from where we live. Although the original buildings are no longer there materials from other homes from the early 1800s were used to make these reconstructions.

The first photo shows an overview of the site.

The others feature doors and details in the main house on the left.

Entrance Door—Thursday Doors

The first photo shows stairs leading to the Cesky Krumlov castle in the Czech Republic.

What I like about the dark door is how it emphasizes by contrast the bright colors in the walls on either side of it.

The other photo shows how the door was held open. The hardware looks like it could also be used to lock the door although I wonder if it is ever closed.
