This final pose is what I’m waiting for.
The stillness I can give, I can receive.
A song to oceans takes me to their shores
Where waves of freedom soothe me to believe.
While reason’s tracks and shadows yearn for more
The heart will tell me what I should achieve.
Today is one more opportunity
To breathe in gifts the winds bring from the sea.

Beautiful soundtrack….beautiful words. Most especially the last two lines…and this I truly believe.

A beautiful ottava rima, Frank, that oozes tranquility – or should I say Franquility? 🙂

Frankquility sounds nice! 🙂 Thanks, Kim!

Each line is a gift to read Frank ~ May we find that stillness to give and receive. And finally:
To breathe in gifts the winds bring from the sea.

Thanks, Grace! That last pose in a yoga practice is quite restful after an hour of more difficult movements. This one you just lay on your back.

I love the sense of grabbing at each day like day… and though it’s a word that’a a bit overused I would think of Carpe Diem

I tried to make the meter exact to imitate the repetitive flow of calm waves. Thank you!

Thank you! I like this one as well. I was thinking about such a poem for a few weeks and then tried to make the “gift” prompt work with it.

It has a calming flow to it. The desire for the ocean to take us in and her gentle breezes drawing us from far.

We have to be calm to give calmness. It is not always easy even by the ocean. I am glad you liked it, Walter.

Thank you, Sumana! I think the title means “corpse pose”, but it is nothing like a corpse as I’ve experienced it.
