Eggs

Lake

Perfect as an egg-round sign
Smoothly futures realign
With whatever comes our way–
Dreaming, waking, walking play.

Take my hand till you have grown.
Soon you will walk on your own.
Fortune will be yours to keep.
Mine was blessed to guard your sleep.

  1. Such a lovely poetic form Frank! I imagined the voice of a parent to the child ~ Love that photo and ending lines:

Fortune will be yours to keep.
Mine was blessed to guard your sleep.

  2. Your poem has the rhythm of a dance on a shore, Frank, a lovely lullaby. I like the gentle actions in the line:
‘Dreaming, waking, walking play’ and the final line: ‘Mine was blessed to guard your sleep’.
