Although it’s faster to forget
And bury passing pain,
There’s much in blame that I regret.
The storm outside’s not over yet.
May clouds transform with rain.
I am hosting today at dVerse with the theme of blame and forgiveness, either or both, any form or no form, confessional or not. Come join us!
This is also linked to Debbie Roth’s Forgiving Fridays.

I like the poem and the photo at the bottom.

He does. I’m surprised to get him looking right at me wondering what I’m doing there. Thank you, Dan!

I think that blame will in the end be a burden…. that’s when you learn to forgive.

This really is your topic, Frank. I can’t believe you have difficulty forgiving. Your poems about it are always so calm and gentle.

Like this Frank! Really not easy to forgive and forget. It swims upstream against human nature.

I like how you’ve packed so much into a small poem, Frank, and the smooth shift from internal thoughts to the external pathetic fallacy of weather.

I agree with Rod, forgiveness swims against human nature; so much so that my whole poem is dedicated to that struggle.

It is kind of paradoxical. It is not easy to forgive, but once one has forgiven someone it is hard to see why it was so hard.

Forgiveness is so difficult for many. It takes tremendous self-growth to get to that place 😢 Your poem is beautiful and I love the last line.

Frank, I love that you’re hosting a topic of “blame and forgiveness”. This is a powerful combination to help explore the gift of forgiveness to heal. Your poem at the same time captures the pain of blame and the grace of forgiveness. Thank you. You touch my heart with the peace in your writing. And the photo is perfect! Isn’t that a peace dove?
I’ll share this for #ForgivingFridays in March. Likely will be next week, as I’m going on a trip to Austin in a few days!
Blessings,
Debbie
