I eagerly prepared to start
but where I wondered was the end?
Predictions failed. Beyond each bend
lay proof that I was not so smart.
My beating heart got torn apart.
There is, I’ve heard, a promised land
somewhere where I’m not looking and
the way is not that hard to find.
If pride would pause, I’d change my mind
and let you take me by the hand.
Ronovan Hester offers the rhyme word “start” for this week’s décima challenge to be used in the A line with rhyme pattern ABBAACCDDC.

Very nice. We will find the promised land!
Blessings.

You’re welcome…I’m thinking a reblog may be in order, depends on whether I have difficulty with the button, like I did in the last blog…

I find reblogging difficult to do because the format of the posts change, but you are welcome to reblog this if you want. What I usually do is just link to someone’s post as I did to Ronovan’s post here. Then I add other material to the post.

Hmmm…do you find that reblogs are not read as widely/often as when you link to a post and add material? I’ve always wondered about that aspect of reblogging–and if you think that’s the case, I’ll change how I feature other bloggers’ posts in future. So let me know 🙂

I don’t know. With a reblog there is only one link to follow. With posts such as my Sunday Walks where I often feature songs and other people’s blogs it is likely too much for the reader to look at everything.

Could be so–sometimes it just depends on the day–how much energy and time I have to browse through posts. I tend to think I don’t need sleep or food…and then I’m in trouble 🙂

Reblogged this on A Once & Future Recluse and commented:
Frank’s poetry always stuns me, as well as his photos. Enjoy–and leave a comment for him on his original blog post please!

A great paring of the photo and the poem. A long and unpredictable journey across some possibly dangerous waters. I’m assuming Jesus will be leading? Well done., Frank.
