The victory is God’s we know.
Before that there is much to do.
Some details haven’t been worked through.
True. Tragedies will come and go
and cancers ever want to grow
and dragons want a bit of fun.
They’ll run their mouths. Their lies will stun
like fists that crush into a cheek
confounding those who try to speak,
but lies will end and then they’re done.
Ronovan Hester offers the rhyme word “cheek” to be used in a D line of a décima having rhyme pattern ABBAACCDDC for this week’s Décima Poetry Challenge. The idea of assured victory in the midst of tribulation comes from Revelation.

You used the prompt word so skilfully and I find your poem so meaningful and beautiful.

There is no greater hope! The victory is assured even as Christ taught us to pray, “Thy kingdom come.”

Excellent Decima (I am learning about poetry from you!)
Sorry you won’t be active on Twitter any longer. I understand but your voice is needed (in my opinion).
Blessings.

You have far more influence on Twitter than I do. I’ve noticed that you effectively challenge people there encouraging them to question their positions. That is good and I hope you continue with that. I rarely even see these people there, but I do on MeWe.

That first line — The victory is God’s we know.
Is all we need to know!
