Inversions

Dale offers the prompt “inversions” for this week’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

I used an “Invert” option on the Color dropdown menu in digiKam to make these. The first is the image before I applied the option. The second is the image after applying it.

  1. Oh Frank, you got me with that Blue–I’m awestruck by the entire group. I only take photos with my Samsung tablet, the results don’t compare to your work–but I’m enjoying it, and that was the whole point. Have you sold any of your work?

    1. Thank you, V! I use an inexpensive Samsung phone to take photos, but then after loading them to my computer I use digiKam on Windows to rotate them, crop them, sharpen the colors and add contrast. If I want to put writing on them, I use LaTeX processing after that. Some of what you are seeing is this processing. I haven’t marketed any of these, but I have added photos to cups through sublimation techniques to support church events.

      I also give the Holy Spirit credit for inspiration and suggestions. I try to follow His guidance. When I don’t (because I mistakenly feel rushed) the photos don’t turn out as well as they might have.

      1. WOW–I have something on Windows 10 that sounds like digiKam, but I haven’t seen that name. It does similar things you describe. Now, as far as adding text I use PhoXo–and like it very much as it’s simple, and free. That’s really cool that you put yours on cups to support the church. Mine just end up being e-cards…or images for the blog, which is fun for me. And oh yes, I know what you mean about following the Holy Spirit–it’s the only way to go! God prospers what He puts in our hands to do–IF we seek Him first. That applies to everything–like my cooking, haha! Blessings to you, brother–so nice chatting with you!

  4. So Interesting Frank! I never heard ofdigiKam, but then again, I am not proficient in techy things. I do, however, see many things and could write a story or poem about this. Holy Spirit inspired, of course.
