interesting the contrasts and similarities between where you are and southern New England (where I am)…
there may be magnoliae up here (but I think I’d remember the curiously large seed pods
but then the similarities in your third photo: large trees we got but your boulders are very common in my area… including outcroppings of ledge (giant underground, mostly granite) stone formations

We are just south of Charlotte in South Carolina although I am more familiar with the Chicago area. I had no idea there were trees like those magnolias until I saw them all over the place mostly as ornamentals. Blessings, Clark!

I recognise those flowers in (9) – Datura – highly poisonous – south American indians made poison for hunting and fishing with them…
