Melting ice and blossoms show
that there’s a coming spring.
Faith will lead us. Where we go
may we give praise and sing.
Dave offers the prompt “first hints of spring” for this week’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

One photo looks a tad too odd.
The other one does too.
To compensate I’ll make both small
and hope that that will do.
Dale offers the theme of “solid, liquid and gas” admitting this encompasses just about anything for this week’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Dale offers as a prompt “the cold light of day” for this week’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Dale offers the prompt “at night” for this week’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.
The above scene is taken from our balcony. Below is a street view in the same direction.
A very short story of mine, “Five Second Rule”, appeared in Whispers and Echoes. I am grateful to the editor for accepting it.

Dale offers the theme “from close up” for this week’s Cosmic Photo Challenge. I was surprised that the tiny lizard sat still long enough for me to get three photos. I suspect the grasshopper sat still because it was injured. Both knew I was there, wishing I’d go away. So I moved on.

Dale offers us the prompt “from ground level” for this week’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.
Above is a photo of a walkway taken near ground level. I call that a “pigeon perspective” thinking that’s what pigeons see. Below is the top of a palm branch lying on the ground in a park. I like the folds of the branch that peeled off the trunk of the tree.

Up in the trees I see blue skies.
They’re sometimes cloudy, full of birds.
A storm approaches. With fresh eyes
come see beyond dark lying words.
Dale challenges us with the theme “in the trees” for this week’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Dale offers the challenge “shades of gray” for this week’s Cosmic Photo Challenge. Above are gray clouds coming in during sunset. Below is a leaf on a gray sidewalk.
The first blog I read this morning was Dianne Marshall’s The Marshall Report. It contained links to two videos, both of which I enjoyed.

Dale offers the theme of “a cold start” for this week’s Cosmic Photo Challenge. I picked some winter scenes from former years.

Dale asks us to “show us your Christmas” for the Cosmic Photo Challenge. On my walk on Christmas day I spotted these flowers among others.
My smile this week for Trent P. McDonald’s The Weekly Smile is much the same as it has been. In particular I was wondering if I would find anything to photograph on December 25th worth posting to meet Dale’s challenge. Sometimes I’m too distracted. There are times I am so preoccupied I forget to take photos. I smiled with relief when I spotted these flowers. I don’t know why I saw them. I must have missed them on previous walks. Perhaps they weren’t blooming then.
