Symmetry

Dale offers the prompt “symmetry” for this week’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

The first photo shows symmetry in a wooden fence.

The second shows symmetry in tile pavement.

The third shows the symmetry of the horizon.

______

There is symmetry in this wooden fence
There is symmetry in these tiles in many directions except where there’s not
Horizontal symmetry, sort of, but the sun and other stuff got in the way

What’s Flowering Where You Are?

Dale offers the prompt “What’s flowering where you are?” for this week’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Some of these I took last year at the same time of year, but the cactus is recent.

______

Up close view of the blossom.
It looks like some kind of cactus in bloom.
Whatever it is, it is nicely red.
I suspect this is a yellow version of the one above.

Lights, Camera, Action

Dale offers the prompt, “lights, camera, action”, for this week’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

My phone is my camera.

The sun rising and setting in the clouds on various days brings both the lights and the action. In these parts the climate changes daily while remaining pretty much the same year after year.

______

Sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean, a huge part of the much larger Flood Waters of Noah
Sunset over the Intracostal Waters
Another sunrise with birds providing the action
Another setting sun where you can see it’s position different from the sunset above.

Portals

Dale offers the prompt “portals” for this week’s Cosmic Photo Challenge. Also linked to Thursday Doors.

This tunnel leads further into some castle.
An old door in a castle. It was probably not the same castle as the first photo.
This door, wall and railing came from somewhere. Considering that I was a tourist when I took this, I suspect there’s a castle nearby.

At the Shoreline

Dale offers the prompt “at the shoreline” for this week’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Some of our friends visited us last week. We took them to the Atlantic Ocean.

Here are a few photos of the beach.

______

Royal Terns facing into the wind which was strong that day
Beach sand with water and footprints
The ocean with a sailboat, swimmers in the distance and stuff that washed in from the sea on the shore

Black and White

Dale offers the prompt “black and white” for this week’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

Decorations on the exterior of a building, naturally black and white (more or less)
Leaves, formerly rather green, but this is what they look like after the computer ate the color.
I just started using Gimp 2.10. I don’t know what I’m doing. This is what happened when I ran “Desaturate” under the “Colors” menu.

Compass Points

Dale offers the prompt “compass points” for this week’s Cosmic Photo Challenge.

I offered two possibly north facing photos, but I am not sure.

Compass Point: East (based on the rising Sun)
Compass Point: West (based on this wild sunset)
Compass Point: South (based on the Mediterranean Sea being to the East of Jaffa, Israel
Royal Terns
Compass Point: North (more or less) because these Royal Terns are facing the Atlantic Ocean and I’m trying to get close enough with my phone from behind
Compas Point: Probably North since this bridge was crossing the Salzach River in Austra
